Collin Veijer couldn’t be happier with his return to the top step of the podium, after a very strong race at the Spanish GP, defending the lead he took from the start.
The Intact GP rider reacted to the result as follows in the closed park: ‘I still feel strange, to be honest. The race, overall, was pretty good, yes, David Alonso crashed and that helped me a bit, because I think if he had continued, he would have also set the pace. At one point, I felt very good in the race and managed to maintain the pace with my feelings, which ultimately led me to victory. Even on the last lap, I was thinking of blocking some corners and said “if they come, they will pass me”, but they didn’t until the last corner’.
He also sent his best wishes to Jose Antonio Rueda
– I want to say something to Rueda: I hope you get well soon and come back, so we can fight with you too, because you would also be good here. In the past, he behaved well and, so, we would certainly behave well here too. Get well soon. Thanks to my family, sponsors, and team.
