Pedro Acosta is back in the top three results. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider was a constant presence in the fight for the top positions in the MotoGP Catalan GP Sprint race, finishing third.
At the beginning of the last lap, he was even overtaken by Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati), but shortly after he was one of the beneficiaries of Francesco Bagnaia’s (Ducati) crash – just like the winner Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) and Márquez.
In the interview with the official broadcast, Acosta admitted that he may have damaged the tires in the first laps, but he was clearly pleased with the third place in this race:
– It was indeed a very difficult race. In the end, maybe with the fights at the beginning with Pecco and Brad [Binder], we overheated the tires a bit. Anyway, I am very happy to be on the podium again, super happy to be on the podium with these guys, and I am super happy with the work that Mattighofen and the whole GasGas team are doing.
