A Boscoscuro was superior in the second practice session of the Italian Moto2 GP, where Alonso López was the fastest with a new lap record of the Mugello circuit… just ahead of his MB Conveyors SpeedUp teammate, Fermín Aldeguer.
After the first flying laps, the lead was held by Izan Guevara (CFMoto Inde Aspar/Kalex), but as the riders set their first valid times, a total of six others were briefly at the top.
Marcos Ramírez (OnlyFans American Racing Team/Kalex) was one of them and, with his second attempt, he returned to the top to hold the position for over a quarter of an hour until being beaten by López. However, at that stage, there were three changes of leader in about three minutes, all from Boscoscuro riders.
After López, Sergio García, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets-MSi), and Aldeguer followed. With his final lap, López set a new record at 1m49.926s and no one was able to beat him. Aldeguer finished second, 0.220s behind, while Ogura was third and García fourth. In fifth was Celestino Vietti (Red Bull KTM Ajo/Kalex).
Only one rider did not set his best time in this session, which largely defined the combined standings. The 14th, securing the last direct spot in the second qualifying, was Jake Dixon (CFMoto Inde Aspar/Kalex), with just a 0.030s advantage over Ramírez.
