The Sunday MotoGP race in Portugal was marked by a real clash of titans involving Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez and opinions are divided on who is to blame. Race Direction considered the moment a racing incident and chose not to penalize (up to now) any of those involved but, according to Aleix Espargaró, one of the participants has a little more… blame.
After the race in Portimão, which ended with Jorge Martín as the winner, very close to the end Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia were involved in a very heated moment on the track that ended with both on the ground.
#41 analyzed the accident in question and considers it a ‘racing incident’, although he is of the opinion that the current world champion should have been more restrained and given space to the Gresini rider:
– Un incident de course à la fin, c’est un virage où des choses se passent chaque année, mais je pense que Pecco aurait dû lui donner plus d’espace. Je pense qu’il a été très agressif après avoir dépassé Marc. Il y a des moments où nous sommes dépassés et c’est frustrant, mais nous ne pouvons pas essayer d’être aussi agressifs, je pense qu’il aurait dû lui donner plus d’espace.
