Just like it happened in 2023, Álex Márquez will once again have a previous year’s Ducati in the next MotoGP season, serving the Gresini team. This year has shown that it is possible to fight for top positions under these conditions, as demonstrated by Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team/Ducati) with his third place in the championship and the victories already achieved.
In an interview with CopeGP, the Spanish rider stated that there are some advantages to having a motorcycle with a previous specification, unless the factory bike makes a considerable leap:
– In the end, having the previous year’s bike – it’s true that if the bike takes a very significant step and has a big advantage, which I don’t think will be the case because it’s a good bike – but it allows you to arrive at the circuits with the electronics prepared, much more information, they have to fine-tune the new engine, and all that. And you have an advantage.
