Pedro Acosta makes his MotoGP debut in 2024 for GasGas Tech3, being one of the most promising riders of his generation: he already has two titles in just three seasons in the world championships.
The Spanish rider made it clear to Agencia EFE that he is not looking to make friends in the premier class: ‘In the end, I still think that I’m not here to make friends and I still think that there is a lot of favoritism in MotoGP. It’s not the old fights between [Valentino] Rossi and [Max] Biaggi or tense press conferences, and we have to be aware of that. There are many experienced people and we will have to deal with it calmly, but we will try to keep our heads in place‘.
Being a highly competitive sport where everyone naturally wants the best possible result, MotoGP is fertile ground for rivalries and not always for friendships. Sometimes, these rivalries do not end well – as an example, more recently, the tensions between Marc Márquez and Rossi that culminated in the controversy of the 2015 Malaysian GP.
