Competing for the first time at home, Pedro Acosta had his worst result of the MotoGP season this Sunday. He thus put an end to a sequence of two consecutive podiums.
The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rookie started from tenth after crashing in qualifying yesterday. This morning he suffered a spectacular fall in the warm-up, which may not have helped his feelings and confidence.
The start of the race was complicated for Acosta, who was in 18th place at one point, then starting a recovery that took him to the final tenth place more than nine seconds behind the ninth place finisher, Maverick Viñales (Aprilia).
After the podiums in Portimão and Austin and finishing second in yesterday’s Sprint race, the Spanish rider had a less good day. Nevertheless, he managed to be the second best KTM, only behind Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) who finished sixth.
