Maverick Viñales had his second full season with Aprilia Racing in 2023 and his best one so far, finishing the year in seventh place, just two points behind the team’s main star for many years, Aleix Espargaró.
His growth has been constant, as Paolo Bonora highlighted on the championship’s website: ‘Race after race, he has become much more consistent at the start. In MotoGP, you need to be at the front in the first corner if you want to get a good result. All his feedback has been very helpful for Aprilia’.
The team manager recalled the way #12 rides the RS-GP, with a note about the future: ‘His riding style is very different from Aleix’s, and we know where we need to improve’.
Despite his improvement, Viñales is still looking for his first victory with Aprilia. In 2023, his best results were three second places in Portugal, Catalonia, and Indonesia.
