Miguel Oliveira will not have an easy time in the qualifying session of the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix. After a tough Friday where he did not show pace to go beyond 20th in practice, the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team rider was relegated to Q1 at Phillip Island, where he will find a grid of stars.
In fact, the first phase of qualifying will feature less usual riders. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) missed direct access to Q2 for the second consecutive time, after finishing 11th in practice 0.186s away from avoiding Q1.
Three other world champions suffered the same fate: Joan Mir, Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda), and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha). Among others, another factory rider will also go through Q1: Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha).
