Miguel Oliveira finished the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix Sprint race in 13th place, the position from which he started. The Trackhouse Racing man was in the fight for point-scoring positions for much of the race, but on the final lap, he lost three positions almost at once.
A good start by the “Falcon,” who after starting from 13th, reached tenth place for a few moments before settling in 11th position. He then got involved in a battle for tenth place with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha).
On the second lap, Oliveira received a warning for exceeding track limits. The point-scoring positions were close, with Brad Binder and Pol Espargaró (Red Bull KTM) just ahead – their positions eventually swapped ten laps from the checkered flag.
By the sixth lap, the Portuguese rider lost tenth place to Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati), having a slower pace than the Italian at that stage. On lap ten, Marc Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) crashed while in second place, and Oliveira returned to the top ten… and dreaming of points.
At that stage of the race, he was less than two tenths behind Pol Espargaró, even making the overtaking move on lap 11 before losing it almost immediately. And Oliveira ultimately failed to score points, losing three positions on the final lap to Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM), Maverick Viñales, and Quartararo, finishing in 13th place.
