Miguel Oliveira left Mugello with only two points. The rider from Almada achieved 14th place in the main race of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix this Sunday, where he was the lowest ranked among the four Aprilia regular riders.
Once again, the start was not good for the Portuguese, who lost four positions on the first lap, falling to 15th behind his Trackhouse Racing teammate, Raúl Fernández. He regained a position on the following lap, but only briefly.
It was between 15th and 14th that Oliveira stabilized in the following laps. He managed to close in on the 13th-placed rider, Álex Rins (Monster Energy Yamaha), before overtaking him on lap 10.
Thus, #88 found himself immediately behind Fernández again. Oliveira spent a good part of the race in 13th place. He gradually approached the Spanish rider, but a mistake caused him to lose a position to Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) on lap 19.
Until the end, Oliveira was unable to react or keep up with Bezzecchi, finishing in 14th place.
