Miguel Oliveira is confident about the future, even more so after today’s in-depth exploration of a very specific area of his bike for 2024.
The Trackhouse Racing driver spoke about part of the work done today, with a great focus on traction control, without forgetting the bike change, and believes that there is great potential to work on, which can be decisive for him: ‘We did some work today in terms of electronics, especially in the management of traction control, to see where we can go. I made a two-year leap in the bike, I had a way to set up TC [traction control] and now we are operating in a different way in terms of TC setup, so I checked some things again and there is certainly room to explore and I believe there is a lot of potential, especially for me, to help me in terms of the sensations to achieve the base of a lap, in TC’.
Oliveira then spoke about how important it is to have a harmonious combination of various elements of the bike: ‘These bikes are all about how much you give to the tire, how much the tire accepts, and how much the electronics “cut”. At the moment, combining these three aspects to have margin, to go faster, to have that in our pocket when we need it’.
This month, Losail will host tests on the 19th and 20th.
