Marc Márquez finished his chapter at Repsol Honda before joining Gresini for the 2024 MotoGP season. His new contract is for only one year and he continues to leave open the possibility of returning to the Japanese manufacturer.
The Spaniard made it clear to the press after the Valencia GP race: ‘I never want to close doors. That’s why I said in the past in some interviews and I say it again: the relationship with Honda was incredible and we decided to end it because both parties agreed. We have total respect. I don’t want to put the situation in a very critical moment, because I like to have the Honda door open‘.
After his various achievements, Márquez emphasized that Honda will always be special in his career, but admitted that a possible return will not depend solely on him: ‘I say, and maybe other manufacturers don’t like to hear it, but this will be the team of my life, of my career. I have won six world titles and several victories, I will not achieve these numbers with another manufacturer. Honda will always be the most special team in my heart. We will see if we can cross our futures again. It will not be a decision only mine‘.
