Honda is still far from the competition, ‘just like last season,’ said Takaaki Nakagami who, despite this disadvantage, sees reasons to be happy with the fact that the RC213V 2023 is ‘more stable’ and provides more feedback to the rider.
Since Honda now has an improved engine, the Japanese rider was asked if with this new power the problems of rear grip can be solved, to which he responded as follows: ‘Yes, depending on the corner. I feel much more grip than with last year’s bike, of course’.
This happens, believes #30, due to the greater stability he feels and the way the bike is now closer to the rider: ‘It’s mainly because the bike is more stable and can handle my riding and I can understand how much grip I have and what’s happening with the bike’s balance during the phase, so I can get more feedback from the bike’.
The championship starts in a week, on a circuit that is not usually the most friendly for Honda.
