Marc Márquez, this year is on the verge of equaling what he achieved last year with Honda, with only five Grand Prix races contested.
In statements, according to motosan.es, the Spanish rider from Gresini Racing MotoGP spoke on this topic, but always with great respect for the Japanese manufacturer.
– I am not going to badmouth or anything in that aspect because, out of respect for Honda and for everything they have given me in my career, I wish them the best and the truth is that I do not want to see them in that situation. But, as I said last year, a rider’s career lasts a few years and it is necessary to make the most of them. In my sporting career I had the misfortune of these last four years with the arm injury, I could not afford to lose more years, especially due to mental exhaustion, so this year I took a risk on a project and I took a risk in the sense that I fully exposed myself to what people wanted, to see me with the best bike and so far it is working well for me.
He also added about the “new” Marc that was born with his new bike, the Ducati: ‘The most important thing that Ducati has given me personally was motivation. Continuing to believe that I have the ability to ride fast, continuing to trust myself, enjoying what I am passionate about in this world, which is motorcycling… And you enjoy it when you are at the front. Then we win or not, everyone loses, we win, but being at the front and being able to fight with the best is different. What did I contribute to them, I don’t know, they have to say it. I try to be as professional as possible, both on and off the track.’
