Levi Kitchen is the winner of the first AMA Supercross 250 Triple Crown, West Zone. The Kawasaki rider was the most consistent in Anaheim, with a 1-2-3 to win the overall at Angel Stadium, which also gives him the shared lead in the championship with Jordon Smith.
Kitchen was the best right from the start in the first race, where he won “at the limit,” with a 0.723s advantage over second-placed RJ Hampshire, after leading all 12 laps. Nate Thrasher finished in third place, ahead of Smith and Ryder DiFrancesco – fourth and fifth respectively.
In the second race, the highlight was RJ Hampshire, who took the lead after the third lap, succeeding Phillip Nicoletti. From that moment on, he would not be dethroned, and finished with a 0.870s lead over second-placed Kitchen, while Jo Shimoda secured the podium.
To finish the competition, Thrasher took the victory, with Shimoda in second and Kitchen in third.
Therefore, and after being the most consistent, Kitchen won the round and scored 25 points to “catch up” with Smith in the championship lead, both currently with 84 points. RJ Hampshire has 76.
