After his impressive debut in Moto3 with a world title in his first year, Pedro Acosta entered Moto2 in 2022 with high expectations on him. However, the beginning was complicated, taking about half a season to find competitiveness and consistency. He even suffered a complicated femur injury before the summer break.
The Spanish rider who is making his debut in MotoGP this year admitted in a DAZN documentary that it was a tough season from a mental point of view, until he got injured in a training session… which he considers to have been helpful:
– I wanted to be a champion, but there was more pressure. I cried a lot during that season, I didn’t understand what was happening in my life. […] It’s not worth being upset for anyone. It’s not about thinking of retiring, but this is worth it. Getting injured helped me a lot.
