This MotoGP Sunday came to a sudden end with the weather conditions forcing the Race Direction to cancel the Sprint Race. Massimo Meregalli regretted this situation, which he saw as necessary for safety reasons.
Yamaha’s Team Director spoke about the decision to cancel Sunday’s action, regarding the Sprint race: ‘We are of course very disappointed for the fans who came to the circuit on Sunday. However, we knew that this was a possible situation, which is why we held the race on Saturday’.
This was a decision that he also agreed with: ‘We agree with the decision to cancel the afternoon Sprint. It is the right decision. The conditions were getting worse and worse and safety should be the priority. We hope the weather improves in Buriram!’.
