Pedro Acosta, after achieving two consecutive podiums, a third place in the Portuguese GP and now second in the Americas GP, has become the youngest rider ever to achieve consecutive podiums. This series of very positive results has led the Spanish rider to fourth place in the championship, 26 points behind the leader, Jorge Martín.
With these numbers and performances from the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider, the possibility of fighting for the title is increasingly becoming a reality to consider. Despite the expectations being higher and higher for Acosta, the 19-year-old rider continues to make it clear that the goal is not to chase the title, but rather to focus on the team’s and his bike’s good performance in each GP.
According to statements from motosport.com, Acosta clearly states his ambitions for the upcoming races starting with the next European race in Jerez.
– ‘We will start thinking [about the next round] in Jerez and not about the championship. All the people talking out there are just pressure. We are in a good moment with the bike, with the team, with Pierer Mobility. Let’s enjoy this moment and keep our fingers crossed to make sure we can fight for the championship. The season is long, but it is not the priority now.’
