Another round of the MXGP world championship is completed, with Jorge Prado achieving a double win at the Sardinia GP.
In the third round of the MXGP, everything went smoothly for the Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing rider, who emerged as the winner of the first race.
The #1’s main opponent was Tim Gajser (Team HRC), whom he beat by 5.279s, while Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) finished third, a distant 39.521s behind. Glenn Coldenhoff (Fantic Factory Racing) was fourth and Pauls Jonass (Standing Construct Honda) was fifth.
Romain Febvre was the best of Kawasaki Racing in sixth, and Calvin Vlaanderen the best with Monster Energy Yamaha in seventh.
In the second race, the difference was minimal, if not nonexistent, in the top three: Prado once again dominated and finished with a significantly larger advantage over Gajser this time, with over 16s separating the competitors. Herlings was “closer” to the competition this time but still quite far behind, more than 27s.
Jonass finished fourth this time, ahead of Febvre.
In the overall classification of the GP, Prado earned the 50 points at stake, with Gajser adding 44 and Herlings 40.
In general terms in the championship, Prado leads comfortably with 174 points so far, Gajser is second with 157, and Herlings is third with 125.
