Kevin Benavides won for the second time in Dakar 2024. This Monday, he set the pace in the eighth stage by beating his brother Luciano (Husqvarna) by 31 seconds. In the overall classification, he is fifth, 20m31s behind the leader, Ricky Brabec (Monster Energy Honda).
In an interview with the official website of the race, Kevin Benavides reported very different terrains in the stage, expressing satisfaction with his performance throughout the day:
– Today there were two completely different specials. The first part was sandy with dunes, then we were transferred halfway and changed terrain, entering this kind of rocky terrain with mountains. I feel good, today I enjoyed my riding. The final part was fun. I think I did a good job, so we need to keep attacking.
