Fermín Aldeguer has been pointed out in recent days as a strong option for the position left by Marc Márquez in Repsol Honda, moving up to MotoGP in 2024. There are rumors that he has an offer from the Japanese manufacturer, but the Moto2 rider assures that he doesn’t know anything.
In statements quoted by the site Motorsport.com, the Spanish rider emphasized that he is not in a hurry to go to MotoGP and wants to do it when he feels prepared: ‘Right now, MotoGP is not on my mind, I only think about enjoying the moment and continuing to learn. I recently turned 18, I am very young, I am not in a hurry to move up, when I do, I want to be truly prepared to continue demonstrating the potential we have and move up to MotoGP to win’.
As for the alleged interest from Honda, Aldeguer said he doesn’t know anything: ‘I am not aware of what they tell me, during the competition weekend I don’t like to talk about external matters, so we’ll see, it’s not my priority at the moment’.
