Pedro Acosta signed a new contract with KTM this morning that will take him to the factory team in MotoGP in 2025. And, hours after the announcement, he finished third in the Sprint race at the Italian GP in Mugello.
The Spanish rider from Red Bull GasGas Tech3 stated in the official broadcast interview: ‘It is true that we are improving a lot on Saturdays, being more competitive in qualifying. And we have also improved a lot on the start because today I was close to being second‘.
Although MotoGP is not an individual sport, as it may sometimes seem, Acosta praised KTM’s efforts to have a bike capable of fighting at the front:
– I am very happy for the team, because they are working day and night to take this bike to the top. We are getting closer, we are even closer than we expected. The entire factory in Mattighofen, as well as all the engineers here, are working hard to have a very competitive bike. So, we are on our way.
