Marc Márquez faces a decisive year in his MotoGP career. After four tough years marked by injuries and a decline in competitiveness from Honda, he moved to Gresini where he will ride a Ducati and wants to return to his best form. However, he is also aware that he has a gradual process ahead, keeping his expectations low.
Márquez #93 told El Hormiguero on Antena 3: ‘I had a lot of patience in the pre-season. There were days when I was in 14th, 18th… patience, without crashing. And in the races, I will see… but I see potential. It was four years of 2020, where if I didn’t injure ten things, I didn’t injure anything. I fell a lot, I hurt myself a lot, I have eight arm surgeries… I have to be patient‘.
The same patience that he had in the tests, Márquez applies to competition and his ambitions, as he stated: ‘People say, “he will arrive with Ducati and dominate.” It’s not like that. I haven’t won a race in two years, I can’t face a year thinking about winning the World Championship. First, I will have to accumulate points, a top five, then a podium – little by little‘.
