Axel Bassani is ready to face a new challenge in the World Superbike Championship, now under the Kawasaki flag. The rider expects many challenges this season, but he is ready to try to fight for the top positions, knowing that it will not be an easy task.
In a team statement, the rider spoke before the start of another test, which takes place from January 24th to 25th, at the Jerez – Angel Nieto Circuit, in Spain: ‘The team and Kawasaki have worked hard during the short winter break. There hasn’t been such a long break since the end of last year’s tests and we will start again at the beginning of the year. We have a lot to do, and quickly, to start the new season.’
Then, he stated that he will do his best, despite knowing that everything will be new for him: ‘For my part, I have to stay calm and focus on the work, because it is a new challenge for me. A completely different team and a completely different bike. I have to learn a lot in my first year as a factory rider. It’s not easy because we have to fight for podiums or victories in every race, but I’m here for that. I’m ready – and working hard. I’m very excited to start this new adventure with this special brand.’
