Andrea Iannone continues his path of (re)adaptation to the world championships, now in WSBK. On the second day of testing in Portimão, the Italian finished 16th but, despite being 1.465s behind the fastest, his overall sensations were very positive, especially on a new circuit for him.
‘With the race tires, we are in a good position. We are quite fast. It is possible to improve a little and we have to do it, but the difficulty for me is the track. I have never ridden here with the race bike and it was very difficult because I didn’t have a reference point,’ he began by saying, quoted on the official championship website, before continuing:
– I had a lot of fun. We tried something with the setup, but we will receive the 2024 package in Australia and I am confident. I signed up for this and at this level before we started. Some moments are completely unexpected. We don’t know what awaits us and it is important that we work well. I don’t want to have high expectations because I know we will have very difficult moments, but also the possibility of having very good moments. I think the goal is high.
His desire to do well, that desire, continues to be “present,” as the Tem GoEleven rider said: ‘We are here to achieve really good results.’
