Álvaro Bautista is two points away from securing the World Superbike title in 2023. The Aruba.it Ducati rider arrives at the final round of the year in Jerez with the possibility of wrapping things up in the first of three races, but that doesn’t change his usual mindset.
The current champion didn’t hide the fact that this is a particularly special round: ‘I am very happy to compete in Spain again, especially at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, which I really like. It’s a very nice track, a “classic” in motorsport. There will be several friends, my family, and it’s always very exciting to share these moments‘.
Bautista hopes to have the same sensations he had during the January test at this track and ensured that, despite the title being close, he won’t change his approach: ‘I have good memories of the tests we did in January and I hope the feeling can be the same. For me, it will be a weekend like any other, with the same approach, trying to work in the best way from free practice. Everything else will be a consequence of the quality of the work we do with the team‘.
