Álex Márquez and Marc Márquez will share the Gresini Racing garage in 2024, and the younger of the clan believes that having such a strong rider by his side will help him stand out, due to the sharing of information and mutual support off the track.
Recalling his past experience in the season he became Moto2 world champion, Álex Márquez said at a press conference organized by Estrella Galicia 0.0: ‘In my personal experience, when I had a teammate with whom I got along very well, those were my best years, like in 2019, when I had Xavi Vierge as my teammate in Moto2 and I became world champion’.
He then explained how this presence can also help bring out the best in him: ‘That competitiveness on the track, but the coexistence off it and the formation of a kind of “team” not only helps in common work, but also joins the forces of the riders and allows them to discuss things that would not be discussed with another teammate, which makes everyone work in the same direction’.
