The Chinese brand Zongshen had already discovered motorcycles with a classic sporty character, equipped with a full fairing, lines traditionally linked to the supersport market, but always with a small cubic capacity, nothing that could challenge the market of the most recognized and prestigious sports motorcycles. The name Cyclone is not exactly new, but it seems that if until now we have seen it associated with small displacements (400cc), now the arrival of the RC680R is closer.
Despite there being no official announcement so far, and there being a good chance that the model will initially be aimed only at the Chinese domestic market, it seems that this super sports bike will use a four-cylinder inline engine apparently very similar to that of Honda. The suggestion seems to come from the engine found in the CBR 650 R and CB 650 R, an excellent engine in terms of use and driving pleasure.
The few available images also show a frame similar to that used by Honda, while at the rear a single-sided swingarm appears. This particularity is now associated with a limited number of motorcycles in the sports scene, which in many cases was abandoned due to higher production costs and greater weight compared to a double-sided swingarm. It is followed by a USD fork and a brake compartment apparently suitable for the supersport spirit of the bike.
Even the design does not lie, aerodynamic wings, a complete fairing that recalls a significant performance. In fact, in China, 100 hp is a barrier for “guda” driving licenses, so this engine should stay below that. We will have to wait for future developments.
