Zapp Electric Vehicles Group Limited (Nasdaq: ZAPP) (“Zapp EV” or the “Company”), owner of Zapp, the British electric vehicle brand with a mission to revolutionize personal urban mobility, announced today that a jury of 132 independent design experts from around the world has recognized the design achievements of the i300 with the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 in the motorcycle category. Zapp’s i300 previously received the Red Dot Award: Product Design and the German Design Award in 2023, along with six other design awards.
Founded in 1953, iF International Forum Design GmbH, based in Hanover, is the world’s oldest independent design organization. The 2024 competition received nearly 11,000 entries from 72 countries.
The new design of the i300, made possible by the patented Z-shaped exoskeleton, combines the performance of a motorcycle with the accessibility of a scooter. This full-vehicle architecture with few components simplifies the assembly process and improves the vehicle’s maneuverability and agility as a result of reduced weight and a lower center of gravity, also allowing for modular storage under the seat. It also houses two lightweight batteries that can be carried indoors and charged from any standard wall outlet, eliminating range anxiety and the need for dedicated charging infrastructure. Zapp is currently putting the i300 into production, with the first deliveries to customers expected in the summer of 2024.
