After Josep García was the strongest on Saturday, Zachary Pichon claimed victory on the second day of the EnduroGP of Portugal in Fafe – the opening round of the EnduroGP World Championship.

This Sunday, riders faced nine Special Tests (three Extreme, three Cross and three Enduro), over a course of more than 50km which they completed three times.

Steven Holcombe (Honda) had a blistering start, winning the first three Special Tests to build a lead of over 20 seconds… before being forced to retire in ST 6. García (Red Bull KTM) responded in Special Test 4, before Pichon (TM) won the next two to take the lead.

From then on, Pichon was never overtaken in the stage’s overall classification. Andrea Verona (GasGas) pushed him to the end, but finished 2.75s behind. García was third, 10.63s back, winning in Enduro 1 behind two Enduro 2 rivals. The Enduro 3 win went to Hamish MacDonald (Sherco), in sixth overall.

Kyron Bacon (Kawasaki) was the strongest in Junior, beating Leo Joyon (Beta) by 15.93s, with Kevin Cristino (Fantic) in third. Meanwhile, Alberto Elgari (TM) won the Youth category, finishing 28.18s ahead of Pietro Scardina (Fantic). Romain Dagna (KTM) completed the podium in that class.
