As is known, Japanese MotoGP constructors have access to the most development concessions. And Yamaha will make use of them again by testing in Portimão after the Portuguese GP.
Journalist Simon Patterson reports that the Iwata constructor will be at the Algarve circuit next Monday for a day of testing immediately after the second round of the season.
As a rule, regular riders Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo can participate in this private test, as well as test rider Cal Crutchlow.
This is an ideal time for Yamaha to test: it’s at a circuit that has just hosted a GP and there is a three-week gap until the next race, which will be the Americas GP between April 12 and 14.
