Álex Crivillé highlighted Francesco Bagnaia’s mental ability to withstand Jorge Martín’s constant attacks in the final stretch of the MotoGP World Championship season.
‘Pecco’s mentality combined with his ease in managing each race and the consistency he showed throughout the championship, allowed him to be crowned MotoGP world champion for the second time. Pecco was very intelligent in every moment, both on and off the track, he knew how to impose his strategy flawlessly. The Italian is a very complete rider, despite not having a very aggressive style, he knows how to play his cards and most importantly, he knows how to read what his opponents are doing. And I believe he won this championship because of that ability he has. He never loses his cool in any situation, no matter how complicated, he is fast, consistent, and can manage any race perfectly. I think the secret of Pecco’s success lies there. Without making much noise, he already has three world championships under his belt’, highlighted the former rider and current commentator to Marca newspaper.
In the final standings, Bagnaia clinched the title with a 39-point lead over Martín, in a battle that only ended with the Spanish rider’s crash at the Valencia GP.
