The successful two-cylinder sports bike from Iwata seems to be the subject, or rather, the subject of a patent for a larger radiator and a modification in the fairing to better dissipate heat.
According to Motorbike Magazine, the Yamaha R7 will allow a series of modifications that make us think of an increase in the performance of its engine – more power means more heat to dissipate.
We are not aware of any cooling problems with the Japanese sports bike, either on the road or on the track, but considering its commitment to racing, in the R7 Cup, and the growing interest in championships dedicated to ‘Twins’, a modification of this type makes us think that it will be even more committed to the sport.
A Yamaha R7 would basically maintain the same structure, although with a new and larger radiator, a new side opening, and a modified side panel to facilitate ventilation and heat dissipation during riding. A modification of this type on the production bike would likely lead to real advantages if we wanted to prepare the bike, based on the GYTR catalog “guide” to transform the R7 into a competition bike.
