The images show us, in a charming and cool nighttime setting for riding on the public road, a motorcycle with fairing, a dual front headlight in the style of the 765 and little more. So, surprisingly, what does the British brand have in store for us? Could we assume the arrival of a racing motorcycle? A sports road motorcycle? The new Daytona?
The first element concerns the road context of the main image, which already puts us in a certain state of mind. Secondly, it is a complete fairing; you can even see the profile of the lower tank, so there is no doubt about that. Thirdly, it will have a semi-handlebar in supersport style, as can be seen by the classic posture of the rider and the profile of the front brake lever, which also seems quite high on the bike’s profile, certainly above the line of the upper steering plate, reminiscent of the classic scheme of sports road motorcycles.
Another detail, perhaps the most important and least likely to be misinterpreted, as we go through the images in the post’s gallery, the word 660 appears. Thus, it is not difficult to speculate that this mysterious motorcycle will probably be equipped with a three-cylinder inline engine that powers the Triumph Trident 660 and which guarantees 81 hp of power at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque for the latter.
In summary, combining the few pieces of information we have, we can put forward the hypothesis of the arrival of a fairing based on the 660, a road sports bike capable of satisfying the desires of many enthusiasts looking for a beautiful sports bike to have fun on public roads and perhaps also on circuits where, let’s remember, this type of bike has often generated small championships, trophies, and beautiful events aimed at an audience that cannot or does not want to spend a lot, but does not want to give up their passion for motor sports.
It remains to be seen what this bike will be called: will Triumph reserve the name Daytona for us? Many hope so and, in fact, it would be a good idea… We will have to wait until January 9th to learn all the details of this new Triumph, so stay tuned!
