With the arrival of the new regulations in 2027, the arrival of other manufacturers to the MotoGP world championship is also in question. BMW Motorrad is one of those manufacturers, after the brand’s director, Markus Flasch, has shown clear intentions of joining the most recognized motor sport in the world of two wheels.
In an interview with Speed Week, Marcus Flasch talked about the possibility of moving up a category, but first having success in the categories in which they are currently, namely WSBK.
– When everyone starts from scratch, it’s time to start, but until then we have to be successful with what we do. For me, it’s not possible to move up a category without being successful. That’s out of the question for me.
Flasch, who has a close relationship with the promoter Dorna, talked about the possibilities of the German manufacturer joining the premier class: ‘This will be a sober and widely supported decision. Every important decision like this has broad support in a company like BMW, and the preparation must be carefully done and justified.’
