After the tests in Misano, Honda was able to take several positive aspects, although the riders of the Japanese brand were expecting more and better in the tests. Alberto Puig, after the tests done on Monday, admitted that Honda is making an effort to find the best possible bike for their number 1 rider in 2024, Marc Márquez.
‘We have new bikes, it’s not the final version, but a prototype to give us indications in a new and better direction. It has some new and old aspects of the 2023 model. We have already had some feedback from the riders, not as positive as we expected, but there is still a lot of development to be done on these prototypes and we will certainly do it in the tests in Valencia’.
Marc Márquez said that depending on the new feedback from the bike for 2024, he would decide whether to stay with the Japanese manufacturer or move to a new team, probably Gresini. Puig, when asked about this topic, said: ‘I haven’t heard what he said, at the moment we want to find a bike that makes him happy (Márquez), we are here for him and for Joan (Mir)’.
