If the expectations around Pedro Acosta were already high, they got even higher with his third place finish at the Portuguese MotoGP. The rookie is becoming a sensation at the beginning of this season, arriving at the Americas GP in fifth place in the championship.
The Austin race will once again be full of new challenges for the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 Spaniard. It is a track where he has never raced in the premier class and one of the most demanding on the calendar due to its layout.
Despite all the buzz around him, Acosta does not get carried away with predictions or euphoria. The rookie said in a press conference that he plans to enjoy the Americas GP, but does not aim for any specific result:
– We no longer have expectations. Ultimately, it’s too easy to talk, it’s too easy to think, but we’re not in a moment to think about that. We need to be realistic and know that we can’t think about any result after two races. It will be very good. Last season, I really enjoyed riding the Moto2 bike here at COTA. So, let’s try to enjoy.
