Aron Canet achieved his first victory in the Portuguese GP in Moto2. The Spanish rider last won in the Aragon GP in Moto3, since then, he has managed to achieve several podiums, but has never maintained the essential consistency throughout the season to establish himself in the intermediate class of Moto2.
The Fantic Racing rider arrives at the Americas GP in Austin as the leader of the Moto2 World Championship and in statements he talked about the moment he is going through, before starting another important step in the championship.
– ‘I feel very good and this is another important step in my career. It was also very emotional after several podiums in Moto2, and also because it has been a long time since my last victory in Moto3. All we have to do is continue to work in the right way’.
Aron also spoke about what might be missing to reach the level of the most consistent riders who fight for the Moto2 title: ‘Sometimes, there are moments when we wonder if we are really capable of winning, but we have to believe in ourselves, follow our dream, work on our physical condition and our training method, and I give 100% of myself. We have to focus more on the way we work than on the results. The results will come, we just have to believe in ourselves, instead of listening to the critics. If I had to say one thing to the Aron of 2020, I would tell him to never give up, to train as best as he can, and that way, the results will come’
