It is already this weekend, at the Qatar GP, that Álex Rins will compete in the first race as a Monster Energy Yamaha rider in MotoGP. Confident and ready, the rider begins a new chapter in his career, riding for the third different manufacturer.
The Spaniard stated before the Losail race: ‘I’m feeling very good, very good. We spent a few days here in Qatar; after the test I stayed here, my family came, so we spent good quality time. Training, focusing on the first GP weekend, and I’m really excited to finally start this new adventure with Yamaha officially. Let’s see how it goes. We will give 100 percent. The tests were good, we improved the bike a bit compared to last year. Overall, we still need to improve the bike, the tuning, several small things to improve. But we are on the right track’.
About his physical condition, Rins mentioned that, on the bike, he doesn’t feel any problems: ‘Physically I am very well. I am very comfortable on the bike and feel very little pain – almost nothing. Walking and things like that are more difficult, I feel more pain. Maybe it’s because of the screws, from the surgery. But, in general, I can say that maybe I am at 100 percent‘.
