Augusto Fernández finished the GP of the Americas in 14th position overall. Unlike his teammate, Pedro Acosta, he has been struggling to adapt to the new bike of the 2024/2025 season and has not been performing at the level he desires.
The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider hopes to improve his performance with the MotoGP’s arrival in Europe. In the debrief, the Spanish rider talked about the weekend.
– ‘It was a tough race, I had difficulty maintaining the pace. We need to analyze Pedro as well, because he did an amazing job. I think his tire choice was better than ours. And yes, tough moments, but I am looking forward to returning to Europe, to Jerez; circuits where I know how to be fast. But now it’s a bit easier to understand things. Understand how Pedro is riding, because he is doing very well and getting the most out of the bike’.
Augusto Fernández admits he will take advantage of his teammate’s performance, Pedro Acosta, in the next GP in Jerez: ‘I am looking forward to seeing what he can do in Jerez and trying to copy him; let’s see if I can at least be close by then; there was a big difference here, especially in the race. The weekend was a little better than in Portimão and Qatar in terms of lap times and sectors; and I felt stronger. But in the race, I couldn’t manage the pace. So, I am looking forward to Jerez and learning from him.’
