After getting two points finishes for the first time since joining Monster Energy Yamaha, Álex Rins heads to his home round in MotoGP – the Catalunya GP in Barcelona.
It is with great excitement that the rider faces the upcoming weekend. In a statement, Rins also highlighted the fact that he has a new aerodynamics that he likes on the YZR-M1:
– This is the first Monster Energy GP of the season and it’s also my home GP, so that definitely adds a bit of extra excitement. We have been working hard trying to make the most of the extra track time that the private test in Mugello gave us. This weekend we will have a new aerodynamic package available, the version that I liked. So, overall, I am really looking forward to starting to ride in Montmeló.
At the moment, Rins is in 20th place in the championship, with seven points. The 13th places in Portugal and Jerez were his best results in the first five rounds of the year, while in the last race he finished 15th.
