Marco Bezzecchi had the opportunity to join Prima Pramac for the 2024 MotoGP season, where he could have ridden the latest version of the Ducati Desmosedici. However, he chose to stay with the VR46 Racing Team for a third season, aware that he would have this year’s version of the bike.
Uccio Salucci, team manager, did not hide his pride in the Italian’s decision and revealed to Corriere dello Sport how Bezzecchi justified it:
– When Marco was offered a Ducati GP24 and he chose to stay with us knowing he would have a GP23, his choice made me proud. We could have kept him by exercising our option, but we wanted the choice to be his. He told me: “The value of the group formed in two years is greater than the difference between my bike and the factory bikes.” The new contract is only for one year, so it won’t become a problem anyway.
