Nowadays, electric motorcycles are very common. Manufacturers all over the world are launching new e-bikes, all designed to be the “ultimate urban mobility device”. And while the vast majority take the form of scooters, there are some important exceptions that aim to preserve the fun factor of motorcycling.
VMoto’s new TS Street Hunter is an excellent example of this. Also known as the Super Soco, the company recently adapted the VMoto brand to represent all its models, unifying them under a single name. Along with this rebranding, more performance-oriented models have emerged that have moved away from the brand’s scooter range
VMoto markets the TS Street Hunter as a sporty two-wheeler that feels at home in the city. VMoto describes the bike as “inspired by the world of naked street fighters”, and it’s easy to tell from the bike’s styling. From some angles, the TS Street Hunter is reminiscent of the Yamaha MT-09, as you can see from the contoured fairing and the split design of the headlights and rear lights. VMoto leans even further into this dark side theme in its marketing, stressing that the bike is ideal for riding both day and night.
Beneath the surface, the bike has a rear axle motor with an output of 2.5 kilowatts and 180 Nm of torque. Since the power and torque ratings of real-world electric vehicles can sometimes be confusing, VMoto claims a top speed of 75 km/h.
As for the battery, it is equipped with a 60-volt, 32 amp-hour battery with up to 1200 cycles. VMoto claims that a full charge takes 3.5 hours, in exchange for 114 kilometers of range on a single charge. To make the deal more palatable, you can even opt for a double battery, effectively doubling your range.
There is no information on prices and availability yet. However, it’s certainly exciting to see VMoto venturing into the enthusiast space with offerings like the TS Street Hunter.
Electric scooters are certainly interesting, but sportier options like the TS Street Hunter are always welcome in the electric two-wheeler market.
