Enea Bastianini was out of the MotoGP Italian GP Sprint race, all due to a crash that happened at the beginning of the third lap and that was under investigation by the stewards.
Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) was ahead of the Italian Ducati rider and tried to defend himself from an attack in the first corner. However, the maneuver did not have the intended outcome, ending with both riders making slight contact.
However, it was enough for Bastianini to lose control of his bike and crash – which meant his retirement, when at least a top three finish in this Sprint race was in sight.
The stewards ultimately took no action, considering the situation as a racing incident. It is certain that it may spark discussion and divide opinions, as Martín and Bastianini also vie for a spot in the Ducati factory team in 2025.
