Darryn Binder lost all hopes of achieving his best result so far in Moto2 with a crash in the Italian GP race – which took place this Sunday at Mugello.
The South African was fighting for a podium position when, seven laps from the end, he lost control at Arrabbiata 1, went off into the gravel, and crashed at high speed.
Despite walking away unharmed, Binder (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) couldn’t avoid retiring from a race where his best Moto2 result to date was expected – the best being a sixth place in Argentina last year.
