The unusual happened during the Moto3 race at the Americas GP. Iván Ortolá and Stefano Nepa were involved in a normal crash, but what happened next is not something you see every day.
The incident took place at turn 15 and was triggered by Ortolá (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM), who ended up catching Nepa (LevelUp MTA/KTM) in the process.
Both got up without any physical issues. In the rush to get back on track, Ortolá hurried to run towards the bike… which, as it turns out, was not his own. Nepa quickly headed towards the scene, warning the rival of the mistake.
An error that is understandable, as following the crash Nepa ended up lying next to Ortolá’s bike. Watch or rewatch the situation below.
