Still recovering from the serious injury he suffered in Portimão, Franco Morbidelli accepted the challenge launched by the MotoGP World Championship organization and shared a letter he wrote to his idol.
‘Hello, Vale. When I was younger, you were my idol. And when I was a teenager, you became a friend of mine. Now, you are the pillar of my life. When I met you, I was a young man who loved riding motorcycles and dreamed of becoming a MotoGP rider. What started as a hobby ended up becoming my profession. You shared your experience and knowledge with me so that this could happen. It’s amazing what has happened since then. You helped me become a MotoGP rider when I was the first student of the VR46 Riders Academy. I am grateful to have met you because you came into my life when I was nobody, believed in me, made me a professional rider, and did your part to make my dream, my life, a reality. Thank you for your trust and support. You are the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.) on and off the track’, wrote the Italo-Brazilian.
World Moto2 champion in 2017, Franco will be Jorge Martin’s teammate at Pramac Racing.
