Álex Márquez finished the Qatar GP in 6th place. The Spanish rider arrives at the last GP of the year in Valencia in great form with very positive results in the last races and in 10th place in the MotoGP World Championship.
In the debrief, the Spanish rider talked about the new features of this year’s calendar with the Sprint race on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
– ‘ 20 sprints races will be acceptable. We have to accept and work to be in good physical condition. This year we reached the end of the year at the physical limit in the race on Sunday, but we have to work to be well. Business is business and this is our job and we are paid for it. After my injuries passed, the good results came, we almost always finished in the Top 5 and for these reasons I think it was a very positive season for me. When we have a good bike the atmosphere is always good, even though I have already said that I felt a bit lonely in the LCR box last year, but this year Ducati worked very well and I think all the riders liked it.’
Questioned about the competitiveness that will be in the next season, Alex replied: ‘Everyone is competitive, the bikes are increasingly similar and they are all on the edge. I think everything that is competitive increases the likelihood of getting hurt. When we arrive at a new track the electronics are already prepared in Ducati and that makes our work much easier, but at this moment Ducati already has such a complete bike that the changes for next year will not be very relevant for sure’.
