The registrations for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) are now open, taking place simultaneously on Sunday, May 19, 2024, worldwide.
The world’s largest charity event for classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will be supported by Triumph Motorcycles for the 11th year, helping to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.
This year, DGR is calling on motorcyclists from around the world to come together for a monumental effort to host 1000 rides, in line with their “Side by Side, Worldwide” campaign. To help achieve this goal, Triumph is working with its global network of dealers to organize and participate in even more rides this year.
To inspire all riders to raise as much money as possible for Movember’s men’s mental health and prostate cancer initiatives, Triumph will reward the top fundraiser with an iconic Thruxton Final Edition; a rare opportunity to own a piece of motorcycle history.Epitome of the café racer style and the perfect bike to capture attention at the DGR, the Thruxton Final Edition is the result of generations of Thruxton development. With a unique Competition Green paint scheme, hand-painted gold lines, and signed by the author, the Thruxton Final Edition combines the style and traditional elegance of the RS, honoring the rich competition heritage of the Thruxton.
Prepared to become a highly desirable collector’s item, the Thruxton Final Edition will come with a certificate of authenticity with the unique VIN number of the bike, signed by members of the Thruxton 1200 design team and Triumph CEO Nick Bloor. An exclusive Final Edition engine badge with a gold frame and ‘Final Edition’ graphic fill will also be included.
A new range of clothing with the DGR and Triumph brands has been launched to support this year’s ride, and 2024 sees the launch of Team Triumph, a dedicated group of riders, so that all participants have the opportunity to join the global Triumph community while raising money to promote men’s health. Triumph X DGR clothing prizes are available for the top five fundraisers in the group.
Paul Stroud, Commercial Director of Triumph Motorcycles, said: “We share the ambitious goal of DGR for 2024; to bring together even more riders, in more places around the world, to raise even more money for male mental health and prostate cancer. We are working side by side with DGR and our growing global network of dealers to help achieve 1000 Rides. This year, we will reward the highest fundraising with an iconic motorcycle; the Thruxton Final Edition, as well as donating five exclusive clothing prizes to the Team Triumph fundraisers.”
This way, we hope to unite and inspire Triumph riders around the world on May 19 to join Team Triumph, dress dapper, raise money, and enjoy the ride.”
“In 2024, we have set the goal of reaching 1000 cities worldwide,” says The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride founder and director, Mark Hawwa. “We have been riding together on the same day worldwide since 2012. Our community is one that comes together, despite borders and oceans, riding side by side to raise increasingly critical funds and raise awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer.”
DGR 2024 is the year we celebrate with our fellow gentlefolk around the world, riding out together, united by a passion and driven by the cause.”
Hedon Helmets, ELF Lubricants, and Quad Lock will also return to the solidarity event inspired by the classic theme, further rewarding the fundraising efforts of the year.
